This Gig Violins Workshop viola is an Ornati model, which has a wider lower bout than most other violas. This helps create a fuller, darker sound while allowing the instrument to be easily playable! Don’t let the 15 ½” fool you, this viola sounds more like 16″ or 16 ½”!

Workshop violas are a great way to get a well-made instrument set up by a luthier but at a steep discount! The rough work of these violins is done abroad, then the instruments are brought to a violin maker to do the final graduations, varnishing, and set-up.
